The Therapeutic Story Book

Picture books have long been known to entertain and teach children. They've also known to help them deal with problems.

A personalized therapeutic storybook tells the story of your child and helps him or her face and overcome a challenge.

"The Therapeutic Story Book" is a unique three-hour workshop for parents who are interested in learning to create a story book for, and about, their child, that would help him or her deal with a challenging or a difficult issue in a therapeutic way.

Using pictures and simple writings, parents pick an issue they would like to help their child through, and create a story all about him or her.

The Therapeutic Story Book can entice positive dialogue between parents and children, regardless of child's age, and can lead to a broader perspective and awareness of the relationship.

The Therapeutic Story Book - for toddlers and preschoolers

Best to target developmental issues such as potty training, sibling rivalry, sleep issues, bringing a baby home, hitting, at home or at school, and more. The story evolves strictly around the child and his or her issue, and provides the insight needed to overcome the challenge intrinsically, motivated by the need to always make things better.

The Therapeutic Story Book - for school-age children, 7-11

Designed to alleviate potential or existing stress and anxiety over academic, social, or athletic challenges in the school environment and with peers. Also helps children cope with difficulties of family issues in the home environment such as divorce, loss, sibling or parental conflicts, moving to a new school, city, state, country, and more.

The Therapeutic Story Book - for teens

While teens face the most challenging physical, social, emotional and cognitive changes, this short and meaningful workshop provides an insight into the changing self, and allows the teen to develop awareness and reflective abilities to sustain him or her through it. Coping with family issues, personal confusions, school pressure, and peer pressure is not easy for anyone, especially not for the emerging young adult trying to manage it all. When young adults gather to write their own personal story of a particular challenge, they also receive support both from their group members and the process they are participating in, all of which offer the strength they need during this period.
